Get yourself into a kayak and hit Blue River; since you're here, you could also stop by pretty Lost Lake. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great planet it would be. The Gore Range Trail is a great hiking trail near Slate Lake; the skiing at Vail is good. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Prairie Point Campground is always a magnificent experience, and float       down the rapids of Blue River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Slate Lake you can take a hike along the Slate Creek Trail; dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Silverthorne. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Slate Lake; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Slate Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. There's no way someone can get                  bored here in the Park Range. Lots of folks from Silverthorne come to Slate Lake, and if you need a site to stay Vail Racquet Club Condominiums is a good choice. Copper Mountain is a magnificent local ski area, and you'll come across a beautiful lake called Upper Slate Lake. Slate Lake gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls during July while February is usually the driest month. On a glorious day at Slate Lake you can take a hike along the Lost Lake Trail, and if you came to camp Davis Springs Campground is a glorious place to do that.
