If you come at the right time of year, Yampa River offers some great whitewater; Skyline Reservoir Number 2 is not the only location close by, Skyline Reservoir Number 3 is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Blue Mountain Inn and Suites, and a wonderful site to pop by nearby is Box Canyon. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Skyline Reservoir Number 2. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you

Skyline Reservoir Number 2 is mostly a pretty arid site; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. High temperatures at Skyline Reservoir Number 2 during the warm months are in the 90's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's.
