Dolores River is a fine whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Skein Mesa Reservoir, and there are glorious locations to explore along the Radium Trail. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dolores River, and a journey to Skein Mesa Reservoir wouldn't       be complete without taking a look at Calf Spring. That right there is a lot already, but it goes on; Skein Mesa Reservoir has it all. Camping is available at High Country Recreational Vehicle Park, and don't leave Skein Mesa Reservoir without first going for a hike along the The Meadows Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Buckeye Campground is a pleasant spot to camp, and not far from Skein Mesa Reservoir you'll find Monogram                  Mesa Reservoir which is a beautiful lake. High temperatures at Skein Mesa Reservoir throughout the summer are in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Skein Mesa Reservoir plunge into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Skein Mesa Reservoir, for example Muleshoe Bend Reservoir, and there's splendid hiking along the Lower Bench Trail.
