Through the warm days of summer at Silver Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. Through the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Silver Lake. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Arkansas River, and Bighorn Rv Park is a fine local campground. can get bored here at Silver Lake. Go for a hike on the Black Mountain Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Lake Creek Campground is a brilliant place to camp. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot like Cloverdale Basin here at Silver Lake is too good to miss; dry warm beds await you at AppleLodge Bed And Breakfast.

South Crestone Lake
 | 14 miles away Trail is awful, disappearing and reappearing every now and again. Thorn bushes and trash cover what little trail is easy to navigate. Trail disappears completely before you actually reach the lake. Also it appears that an axe murderer has taken up residence in the upperwoods. Be careful and travel in large groups if you plan to try and make it to the lake. It is easy to get lost so mark your trail well.... |
