When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. Through the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Silver Lake. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Arkansas River, and Bighorn Rv Park is a fine local campground. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Sangre       De Cristo Mountains. There is a great hiking trail close to Silver Lake called the Crossover Trail, and there are other places here than Silver Lake, for example Brush Creek Lakes. Baldy Peak is uncomplicated to spot from Silver Lake, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not pop by Rainbow Lake. Silver Lake is a location that is quite waterless regularly; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is                  the driest. Silver Lake is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Going for a hike on the Rainbow Trail is always a good adventure.
