     At Lake Silex you don’t see much rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is June. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Silex.    you at Kendall Mountain. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area near Lake Silex has to offer. A delightful location in the vicinity of Lake Silex is Stormy Gulch, and there are other spots here than Lake Silex, for example Trinity Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Silex; Brooklyn Trail is a splendid local trail; after a long day outdoors Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel is a fine spot to spend a night  
               or two.
Man, is there a load of amusing stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Vallecito Creek, and you can stay the night at Vallecito Campground. Summertime highs at Lake Silex frequently tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Silex temperatures sink to the 0's.
