Some of the water close by flows, like Dry Fork Escalante Creek, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Kannah Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Have a fine hiking adventure along the Winter Mesa Trail, and if you're going to from Montrose, you       won't be the only one. Summertime highs at Shortcut Reservoir usually tend to be in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Shortcut Reservoir temperatures drop to the 10's. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! Shortcut Reservoir is excellent! While you're here at Shortcut Reservoir you can take a hike along                  the Gunnison Trail, and Escalante Rim is an exciting place to pop by while at Shortcut Reservoir. You're possibly addicted to lakes, Club Gulch Reservoir is one of those close by. This lake is so wonderful. This is a brilliant neighborhood for people who like lakes. Stone Basin Reservoir is a lake in close proximity, and Powderhorn is a wonderful local ski area. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Delta, and Amphitheater - Gunnison National Forest is a splendid campground nearby. Going for a hike along the Long Gulch Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sundance is a perfect location to spend a night or two.
