High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Shortcut Reservoir temperatures drop to the 10's. for people who like lakes. Stone Basin Reservoir is a lake in close proximity, and Powderhorn is a wonderful local ski area. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Delta, and Amphitheater - Gunnison National Forest is a splendid
campground nearby. Going for a hike along the Long Gulch Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sundance is a perfect location to spend a night or two. Shortcut Reservoir
is a location that is pretty dried out mostly; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain while January is regularly the driest month.
