Steamboat is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, unsurprisingly you could also check out Jonah Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. And if that's not sufficient, there's plenty more to do next to Shoestring Lake. A lake nearby is Whale Lake, and why not head up to Howelsen Hill and strap some skis to your feet. If you love the outdoors you'll       love it here in the Park Range. Take a hike on the Rainbow Lake Trail, and if you came to camp Summit Lake Campground is a magnificent spot to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Shoestring Lake; Newcomb Creek Trail is a tremendous local trail, and there's a fine forest called Routt National Forest. If only every site had this much outdoors cool things, what a great globe it would be. Why not take a refreshing hike along the                  Percy Lake Trail, and camping at Granite Campground is always a magnificent experience. For the duration of the summer months at Shoestring Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Shoestring Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Round Mountain is stunning and can be distinguished from Shoestring Lake; dry warm beds await you at Winterwood Townhomes. Shoestring Lake is one of the lakes here in the Park Range. Shoestring Lake is pretty arid typically; most of the snow falls during December; the driest of the months is August. If you're here, you might as well visit Buffalo Pass, and glide down the rapids of Elk River in a kayak.
