If you want a nice time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Sherwin Lake. If you need a place to stay The Peck House is a tremendous choice, and Sherwin Lake is right by the James Peak Lake Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clear Creek; if you came to camp Mountain Meadow Camp Grounds is       a delightful site to do that. Skiing at Berthoud Pass is one of those things you just should do, and do take a hike on the South Boulder Creek Trail. At Sherwin Lake you can spot Mount Bancroft, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Lower Chinns Reservoir is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Iron Horse Resort is a pleasant site to get some rest, and striking scenery and perfect skiing is what you acquire at Winter                  Park. At Sherwin Lake through the summertime highs are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and overnight lows during the winter for Sherwin Lake tend to be in the 0's. If you come at the right time of year, Clear Creek - West Fork offers some wonderful whitewater, and if you've had enough of Sherwin Lake, Upper Chinns Reservoir is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little trip to North Empire Creek since you're here at Sherwin Lake; at Upper Chinns Dam close to Sherwin Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Sherwin Lake.
