Summertime highs at Shearer Reservoir regularly tend to be in the 80's; the nighttime is a bit cooler of course, commonly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Shearer Reservoir temperatures sink to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. J O Smith and Sons Reservoir is a great lake next to Shearer       Reservoir, and Bearadise Cabins and RV Park is a good local campground. So many cool things to do here at Shearer Reservoir, too magnificent to be true. A picturesque lake like Wright-Brink Reservoir near Shearer Reservoir is a splendid location to have a look at, and in the neighborhood of Shearer Reservoir you come across a golf course called Grandote Peaks Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Near Shearer Reservoir you stumble on the Wade Trail which                  is a splendid hiking trail, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Wahatoya Trail. All year is a pleasant time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Don't forget to take a glorious little tour to Wahatoya Creek; a tremendous close by hotel is Knights Inn Walensburg. It is very dried up here at Shearer Reservoir typically; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most while January is typically the driest month. So many fun things to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too good to be true. The Black Hills Trail is a splendid hiking trail next to Shearer Reservoir, and the skiing at Eldora is nice. Shearer Dam is scenic and it's in the vicinity of Shearer Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Rambler is a good place to spend a night or two. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
