The Sangre De Cristo Mountains is unbeatable! You could also explore Wright-Brink Reservoir if you're here at Shearer Reservoir; it's close by, and the snow is good at Eldora. Pinon Hill is something you shouldn't miss while you're here at Shearer Reservoir, and of course Wahatoya Creek is a pretty stream that is worth stopping at. Summertime at Shearer Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; the overnight       is rather cooler of course, generally in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Shearer Reservoir plunge into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Rambler is a tremendous place to get some rest, and a lake nearby is J O Smith and Sons Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit Shearer Dam since you're here; there are wonderful places to discover along the                  Black Hills Trail. Shearer Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you need a site to stay Knights Inn Walsenburg is a pleasant choice, and don't leave Shearer Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Wahatoya Trail. Shearer Reservoir is a location that is reasonably waterless commonly; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most; January on the other hand is the driest. Shearer Reservoir really is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise.
