Shavano Lake is located in the Sawatch Range. So much exciting stuff in the Sawatch Range, just inspiring. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Arkansas River, and Shavano Lake is a glorious place to camp, Angel of Shavano Campground is a glorious place. Shavano Lake is right by the Browns Creek Trail; the vista of delightful Jones Peak is good. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Fooses Creek Trail is perfect       fun, and the slopes of Monarch are so inviting noone can resist. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Shavano Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Shavano Lake dip into the 0's. And that's not all the things to do here in the Sawatch Range. All our national parks are good sites to visit, and Black                  Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is no exception. A wonderful close by hotel is Buena Vista Super 8 Motel, and you can stay the night at Heart Of The Rockies. At Shavano Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the least moisture. Shavano Lake really is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise.
