Shagwa Lake is pretty dry usually; during July this area sees the most rain; January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Medicine Bow Mountains. Cache La Poudre River is a delightful whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Shagwa Lake; you can stay the night at Creedmore Lakes Campground. You can run the rapids of Cache La       Poudre River close to Shagwa Lake, and Shagwa Lake is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, Bellaire Lake Campground is a magnificent place to camp nearby. This lake is located in the wonderful Medicine Bow Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend nearby Fox Acres Country Club, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Hiawatha Lake is just a very short distance away. Summer brings highs in the 80's to                  Shagwa Lake with nighttime lows in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Shagwa Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
