Watanga Lake
 | We hiked up to Wantaga Lake from the Roaring Fork Trailhead on July 27, 2006. This is a steep trail with lots of switchbacks and stream crossings. It took us 3 hours to get to the lake and 2 to get back down. Bear and elk scat were on the trail and loads of different species of mushrooms and flowers. I recommend you take treking poles, mosquitoe repellent, food and lots of water. The lake is beautiful and is loaded with cutthroat trout! Enjoy! ... |

Here you can purchase lift tickets, enroll in ski school, and rent or buy the latest equipment. It also offers the perfect vantage point to watch the kids cruise down the slopes as you relax on the viewing deck. At the end of the day, the fire pit at the base of the mountain is a popular gathering place for families to share stories and enjoy a warm cup of cocoa. There's also a dining hall, Seven Trails Grille and Higher Grounds Coffee Shop to keep you fueled for your adventures. We have totally redesigned the Base Camp Lodge! We have added 5000 sq ft to the building, expanded the deck seating by 2500 sq ft and paved the parking lot. The Children's Center, Retail Shop, Dining Hall and Rental Department are revamped for the 07-08 ski season. We are proud to announce the Seven Trails Grille opening on the first floor of the Base Camp Lodge.

Long Draw Reservoir
 | 16 miles away A very nice place to go camping, hiking and fishing. The reservoir has an astonishing breathtaking view, nothing like I have ever seen before, yes that beautiful! We went the weekend of July 10th, 2009 the weather during the day is very nice and sunny avg. temp about 75 degrees, the nights however are very cold, dipping into the low 40's and 30's, so be prepared for that, we came with too little of blankets and learned that to be a big mistake. Long draw is located about 15 mi. inland from Hwy 14 just past Chambers, driving into the reservoir looks deceitful because it seems as though you are traveling into the thick of the forest with nothing but trees around, but be patient 15 mi. in you will discover the camp ground, enjoy!... |
Ypsilon Lake
 | 17 miles away It is a really good 4.9 mile hike, if you want to get a full day of fishing either wake up early and be at the trail head by five in the morning, or you can get a back country permit and stay over night. The fishing here is amazing. The average angler can catch his limit in a couple of hours. You will mostly see colorado cutthroat at an average of 12-14 inches.A wonderful place to fish, I plan on going a couple of times this summer.(Wont be good for fishing til about jun 15 on. Enjoy!... |

Arapahoe Basin
 | 29 miles away 7 PHOTOS Arapahoe Basin has always been known as the legend for its legendary steeps on East Wall and off Pallavicini lift, legendary views from the Continental Divide, and now for a legendary 80% terrain expansion into Montezuma Bowl. Arapahoe Basin will almost double in size this season as we expand into Montezuma Bowl with high alpine groomed runs, bowls, chutes and glades. Arapahoe Basin strongly encourages our guests and employees to ride the free Summit Stage bus or to carpool to the ski area! Riding public transportation and carpooling reduces greenhouse gases and congestion on I-70. It also saves you money on gas, reduces the parking crunch at the ski area, and gives you someone to talk with on the ride up.
