There's delightful hiking along the Fayville Trail. Lakes are good; Blair Lake is a lake that's close to Shadow Lake. Blair Mountain is gorgeous and can be observed from Shadow Lake; there's some flowing water nearby, Patterson Creek is a stream you can visit during your stay. A good spot for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Shadow Lake is Colorado River, and the Bailey Lake Trail offers hiking at its best. Around Shadow Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation;

for a hike along the Oyster Lake Trail, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites On The River is a great location to spend a night or two. You can run the rapids of White River - North Fork right next door to Shadow
Lake. There's so much to do here at Shadow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Supply Basin Campground is a great site for that. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Sunlight Mountain is one of those things you just should
do. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Shadow Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bison Lake Campground.

 | 3 PHOTOS Jet lake is also located in the Flat Tops wilderness area so no vehicles allowed but is only about a 15 to 20 minute hike to the lake (an easy pretty flat hike) then about another 15 minute hike into shadow lake , about 15 mor into blair lake and about 15 more into crater lake. Elk lakes are located about 5 minutes from the wilderness area only 1/2 mile to the parking for jet lakes.... some colorado wild flowers... |

Definatly a 4 wheel drive Jeep Trail but only a few miles from Elk lakes, Jet lake, Shadow Lake, Blair lakes , Crater Lake, Deep lake and bison lake. Lots of Cut throat trout, rainbows and browns. Most deffinatly more than a one day trip. Always plan for all kinds of weather, and definitely tent camping only.... |
