Scout Lake is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Stay the night at Purgatory Campground, and don't leave Scout Lake without first going for a hike along the Highline Trail. It is very dry here at Scout Lake commonly; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is June. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.

| | Lime Creek is a great local stream, and the snow is glorious at Kendall Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. There's perfect hiking along the Deer Park Trail, and why not head up to Silverton and strap some skis to your feet. Purgatory Flat is a charming site any time of year; dry warm beds await you at Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel. people who like lakes. Potato Lake is a lake close at hand, and whitewater paddling is fine on Animas River. This lake is so wonderful. Scout Lake is a brilliant site to visit for more than one day, Lime Creek Campground is a brilliant
site to camp nearby; if you need a location to stay Purgatory Lodge by Durango Mountain Resorts is a glorious choice. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things right next door to Scout Lake. Get drenched paddling on Lime
Creek. Lakes are perfect; Boyce Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Scout Lake. What a place this is for outdoors people. Good hiking is available along the Circle Trail; here at Scout Lake you can catch a sight of Potato
Hill. At Scout Lake during the summer months highs are in the 70's with night lows in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Scout Lake.
