Beautiful Schlegel Lake has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant panorama of wonderful Castle Peak is available from Schlegel Lake, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Eagle, Co is a splendid choice. During the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 70's at Schlegel Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with

| | lows in the 0's to Schlegel Lake. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Why not take a refreshing hike along the High Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Eagle.

You could also pop by G G Upper Reservoir if you're here at Schlegel Lake; it's nearby, and Schlegel Lake is right by the South Derby Trail. Schlegel Lake is splendid enough to spend more than
a day at, Sylvan Lake is a splendid local campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Colorado River. It is very dry here at Schlegel Lake ordinarily; through March this area sees
the most snow; the driest month of the year is June.

Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir. We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection. After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests. A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir. It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well. We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum.... |
