     Sawmill Reservoir is a nice lake to visit. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Chris Mountain is easily spotted from Sawmill Reservoir, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Middle Mountain Trail. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This place, Sawmill Reservoir, it completely has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Lakes? Sure, Osborn Reservoir Number 2 is in the neighborhood. You'll need more than a day to explore  
   everything Sawmill Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Turkey Springs Campground.
But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The Devil Mountain Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Sawmill Reservoir, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Piedra River. At Sawmill Reservoir throughout the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime
 
               come with highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Sawmill Reservoir temperatures descend to the 0's.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Osborn Reservoir Number 1, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Piedra Stock Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A great nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Pagosa Springs, and there are some great whitewater spots on Piedra River. Having a great time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is trouble-free. If you need a location to stay Keyah Grande Resort is a delightful choice. There's so much to do here at Sawmill Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Happy Camper RV Park is a great spot for that.
A day on the slopes of Wolf Creek is just what you need; why not a little side journey to West Fork Devil Creek. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Sawmill Reservoir; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; June meanwhile is the driest month.

The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

These are the closest Public put in & take out to the Lat/Long given on the site. Happy Raftin!...
