Sawmill Reservoir is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. At Sawmill Reservoir through the warm months highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Sawmill Reservoir dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff at Sawmill Reservoir. At Sawmill Reservoir you can spot Chris Mountain; a day on the slopes of Wolf Creek is just what you need. So many amusing things to do in the San Juan Mountains, not sufficient time. Juan Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. There's so much to do here at Sawmill Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Turkey Springs Campground is a pleasant site for that, and paddling on Piedra River is
so much fun.
Sawmill Reservoir is a good place of normal precipitation; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is June. Have a good hiking adventure along the Devil Mountain
Trail, and whitewater paddling is great on Piedra River. Not far from Sawmill Reservoir, you'll locate Osborn Reservoir Number 1 which is a pretty lake, and hiking along the Piedra Stock Trail is nice fun.
This lake is so wonderful.
A quick trip to West Fork Devil Creek next to Sawmill Reservoir is a perfect idea, and do take a hike on the Middle Mountain Trail.
