     Savage Lakes is right by the Highline Trail; there are some great whitewater spots on Homestake Creek. This lake is so wonderful. The vista of stunning Savage Peak near Savage Lakes is glorious. There's so much to do here at Savage Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Elk Wallow Campground is a splendid place for that. If you come at the right time of year, Fryingpan River offers some fine whitewater; you can never get enough of the delightful skiing  
   at Ski Cooper.
Savage Lakes is regularly a relatively dried out site; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Savage Lakes truly is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. For the period of the summer months, highs commonly are in the 80's at Savage Lakes with overnight lows in the 40's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Savage
 
               Lakes dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.
What a site this is for outdoors folks. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Last Chance Trail, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Beaver Creek since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Half Moon Trail is tremendous fun. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Savage Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Gold Park Campground. Savage Lakes is located in the Sawatch Range.
Be careful coming to the Sawatch Range, you might not ever want to return back home again. Brady Lake is a pleasant lake close to Savage Lakes; don't forget to take a magnificent little spree to Mormon Creek. Yeah, come up here to the Sawatch Range for a brilliant time. You're sure to stumble upon some cheerful folks from Edwards here, and if you need a site to stay The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch is a nice choice. A pleasant close by hotel is Hyatt Mountain Lodge, and there are other locations here than Savage Lakes, for example Sopris Lake.
