At Sand Lake through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Sand Lake sink into the 0's. Why not camp at Bucks Campground while you're here at Sand Lake, and do take a hike on the South Derby Trail. And if you're still looking for more outdoors       cool things just keep reading. After a long day outdoors Black Dog Inn is a fine spot to spend a night or two; Sand Lake is right by the Ute Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Oak Creek Motel, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Camel Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Sheriff Dam has great water scenery and it's close to Sand Lake; why not a little side visit to Sand Creek. A great location to camp here at                  Sand Lake is Baughn Lake Campground, and if you're addicted to cool geologic traits try Sand Point. At Sand Lake you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the snow is March; the driest month of the year is June.
