The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. For the duration of the long summer days, highs generally are in the 80's at Saint Charles Reservoir while overnight lows are usually in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Saint Charles Reservoir dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Second Mace Trail,       and naturally Cliff Creek flows through this area. Having a good time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains is uncomplicated. Simonson Meadow is right here at Saint Charles Reservoir, and Saint Charles Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Ophir Creek Campground is a great local campground. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Florence is a nice place to spend a night or two, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Snowslide Trail.                  But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Eagle Scout Lake Dam is a stunning place right next door to Saint Charles Reservoir, and if you crave a little side trip, try Bear Canyon. Not much rain falls here at Saint Charles Reservoir; August is the wettest month with most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Saint Charles Reservoir; San Carlos Trail is a magnificent local trail, and Colorado City CO Days Inn is a tremendous spot to get some rest. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun stuff the area close to Saint Charles Reservoir has to offer. Lakes are magnificent; Marion Lake is a lake that's close to Saint Charles Reservoir.
