The peak of 25 Mesa can be distinguished from Round Park Reservoir, and a lake close by is Castle Rock Reservoir. For the period of the warm months at Round Park Reservoir temperatures are generally in the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 40's with temperatures at Round Park Reservoir dipping down       into the 10's through winter nights. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Round Park Reservoir. Go for a hike on the Monitor Mesa Trail; Twin Lakes Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could explore. Good hiking is available along the Moore Mesa Trail, and you can run the rapids of Escalante Creek. Man, is there a heap of enjoyable stuff to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. You have to definitely dedicate some time to Cottonwood                  Basin if you're here at Round Park Reservoir, and you can stay the night at Smokehouse Campground. So much fun stuff to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, too splendid to be true. If you need a site to stay Best Western Sundance is a glorious choice, and Twin Lakes Dam is not far at all from Round Park Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. A nice spot for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Round Park Reservoir is San Miguel River. There's so much to do here at Round Park Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, T Bone Spring Campground is a pleasant spot for that. Here at Round Park Reservoir there are plenty of folks from Montrose; going for a hike on the Cottonwood Trail is always a tremendous adventure.
