Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend San Miguel River, and a lovely lake like Twin Lakes Reservoir is a great location to take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. At Round Park Reservoir you can spot 25 Mesa, and Best Western Sundance is a great spot to get some rest. T Bone Spring Campground is a delightful local campground; Twin Lakes Dam is not far at all from Round       Park Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Near Round Park Reservoir you come across the Moore Mesa Trail which is a good hiking trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Escalante Creek offers some magnificent whitewater. This lake is one of the great places here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. High temperatures at Round Park Reservoir during the days of summer are in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime                  are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Round Park Reservoir. If only every location had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great globe it would be. Why not camp at Smokehouse Campground if you're here at Round Park Reservoir, and the Cottonwood Trail is a good hiking trail close by. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. The fine folks of Montrose like to hang out nearby, and do set aside some time for Cottonwood Basin while you're here at Round Park Reservoir. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. There is a wonderful hiking trail near Round Park Reservoir called the Monitor Mesa Trail, and you'll come across a stunning lake called Castle Rock Reservoir.
