If you like lakes and you're in this part of Colorado you can check out Rod and Gun Club Lake. Rod and Gun Club Lake is a beautiful lake in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A short visit to Newton Spring is always worthwhile, and San Juan River - East Fork is a wonderful whitewater spot close by. Rod and Gun Club Lake truly is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. What a site this is for outdoors folks. There's some flowing water close by, Allen

| | Creek is a stream you can take a look at while here; why not take a refreshing hike along the Rainbow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Pagosa Springs, Co, and Allen Park is a great spot to check out. So many enjoyable things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too magnificent to be true. A day on the slopes of Wolf Creek is just what you need, and Rod and Gun Club Lake is right by the Treasure Mountain | |

Trail. Not much rainfall falls here at Rod and Gun Club Lake; the month with most of the rain is July while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Man, is there a heap of cool stuff to do in the San Juan and
Jemez Mountains. Pagosa Riverside Campground is a fine local campground. Lakes? Sure, T Lazy T Reservoir is nearby. For the period of the summer here at Rod and Gun Club Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 70's. During the
dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 30's. Highs during the winter are regularly in the 20's; nighttime lows at Rod and Gun Club Lake during the wintertime commonly fall into the-10's. After a long day outdoors
Oak Ridge Lodge is a tremendous site to spend a night or two, and why not camp at West Fork Campground if you're here at Rod and Gun Club Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You get a brilliant view of Sliderock Mountain from Rod and
Gun Club Lake, and not far from Rod and Gun Club Lake you'll discover Hatcher Lakes which is a pretty lake. A glorious place for whitewater paddling next to Rod and Gun Club Lake is Wolf Creek; the Windy Pass Trail offers hiking at its best.

 | 16 miles away I was raised near this lake and when a child we had to pack horses into this lake. It is not near any campgrounds, and it's over 25 miles to town, not 18. It gets way colder than 0 in the winter but the views are almost correct. It IS beautiful!... |
