     At Rod and Gun Club Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 30's. All through the winter highs are frequently in the 20's; night lows in the-10's for Rod and Gun Club Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Treasure Mountain Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Wolf Creek. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! The San Juan and Jemez Mountains is peerless! Hiking is a  
   popular thing to do around Rod and Gun Club Lake; Rainbow Trail is a great local trail; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Wolf Creek since you're here.
T Lazy T Reservoir is a perfect lake near Rod and Gun Club Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, San Juan River - East Fork offers some great whitewater. Having a great time at Rod and Gun Club Lake is painless. Dry warm beds await you at OakRidge Lodge, and Newton Spring
 
               is always fun to check out. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining things the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has to offer. There are other locations here than Rod and Gun Club Lake, for example Hatcher Lakes; why not take a little trip to Allen Creek while you're here.
This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at West Fork Campground, and Holiday Inn Express PAGOSA SPRINGS is a nice location to get some rest. Around Rod and Gun Club Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; most of the rain falls during July; the driest of the months is June. Places like Allen Park are splendid to pop by, and there's fine hiking along the Windy Pass Trail.
So much amusing stuff near Rod and Gun Club Lake, absolutely remarkable. Rod and Gun Club Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Rod and Gun Club Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pagosa Riverside Campground; a fine view of wonderful Sliderock Mountain is available.

I am a very close relative of the land owners for a significant portion of the East Fork. There is a couple of miles of river that is private land. Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts. Please respect the property line and stay on public lands. Other than that enjoy your time in CO and happy rafting....

The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

These are the closest Public put in & take out to the Lat/Long given on the site. Happy Raftin!...

I was raised near this lake and when a child we had to pack horses into this lake. It is not near any campgrounds, and it's over 25 miles to town, not 18. It gets way colder than 0 in the winter but the views are almost correct.  It IS beautiful!...
