There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Vallecito Creek, and a short journey to Coyote Basin                  Spring is always worthwhile. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rocky Basin; Devil Mountain Trail is a fine local trail; Grassy Point is easy to spot from Rocky Basin. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Piedra River for all you adrenaline rush seekers; Five Branches Camper Park is a nice campground nearby. The amount of precipitation that falls at Rocky Basin is close to the national average; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is June. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do near Rocky Basin.
