     Going for a hike along the Crag Crest Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; you can take a little trip to Eggleston Dam since you're here at Rockland Lake. Eggleston Lake Campground is a fine local campground; Comfort Inn Delta is a delightful site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Rockland Lake gets very little rain; October is the month that gets the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
Be careful coming
 
   to Rockland Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. Why not camp at Eggleston Campground since you're here at Rockland Lake; you'll hit upon a gorgeous lake called Upper Eggleston Lake. During the summer highs here at Rockland Lake get into the 90's with overnight lows in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and night lows all through the wintertime for Rockland Lake tend to be in the 10's. A good nearby hotel is Howard Johnson Express - Cedaredge,  
               and what would winter be without some skiing at Powderhorn.
This lake is so wonderful. One of the main characteristics of the surroundings of Rockland Lake is Horse Mountain, and if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Lily Lake Trail. Lakes are such serene places, why not stop at Butts Lake near Rockland Lake, and since you're here you can take a hike along the High Foot Trail.

Crater Lake

Hiked into Crater Lake on 6/23/07. Caught three 12' cutthroat trout, and had a much larger trout strike my lure a couple of times (not hard enough for me to set the hook). Beautiful place, but the mosquitos ate me alive....
