    Beautiful Rock Lakes has much to offer visitors. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Camping at Park Creek Campground is always a great experience, and not far from Rock Lakes you'll stumble on Spruce Lake Number 1 which is a picturesque lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Wolf Creek, and if the weather is gorgeous, you get a pleasant panorama of Sheep Mountain from Rock Lakes. It  
   is very waterless here at Rock Lakes regularly; the month with most of the rain is July while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The Treasure Mountain Trail is a great hiking trail next to Rock Lakes, and there are other locations here than Rock Lakes, for example Rock Lake. Be careful coming to Rock Lakes, you might not ever wanna return home again. If you came to camp
 
               West Fork Campground is a brilliant place to do that, and if you come at the right time of year, San Juan River - East Fork offers some splendid whitewater.
This place, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Looking for some flowing water? Try Camp Creek, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Highline Trail. Through the days of summer here at Rock Lakes, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Rock Lakes nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the-10's.
This lake is so wonderful. On a wonderful day at Rock Lakes you can take a hike along the Windy Pass Trail; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Pagosa Springs, Co. Really nice skiing awaits you at Wolf Creek, and if you need a location to stay Oak Ridge Lodge is a tremendous choice.

Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts. Please respect the property line and stay on public lands. Other than that enjoy your time in CO and happy rafting....

I am a guide on the San Juan here and wanted to correct the info about this run. The put in is behind a place called malt shoppe and the Lat/Long of it is: 37. 269902°, -107. 001559°

The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

These are the closest Public put in & take out to the Lat/Long given on the site. Happy Raftin!...

I was raised near this lake and when a child we had to pack horses into this lake. It is not near any campgrounds, and it's over 25 miles to town, not 18. It gets way colder than 0 in the winter but the views are almost correct.  It IS beautiful!...
