For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Rock Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. Rock Lake is one of the lakes here in the Front Range. This lake is so wonderful. Rock Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Middle Saint Vrain       Campground is a perfect local campground; the sight of pretty Miller Rock is tremendous. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Nearby lakes? Sure, Minnie Lake is close to Rock Lake, and going for a hike along the Bright Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. At Rock Lake you don’t see much rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is November. This is a popular site for folks from Boulder.                  But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Front Range. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Saint Vrain Creek - North, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Lodge At Nederland. This lake is so wonderful. Have a great hiking adventure along the Beaver Reservoir Cut-Off Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Saint Vrain Creek - South offers some good whitewater. Having a brilliant time in the Front Range is painless. If time allows, Rocky Mountain National Park is a national park worth checking out, and you're probably hooked on lakes, Gold Lake is one of those close by. Take a hike on the Ceran Vrain Trail, and camping at Pawnee Campground is always a brilliant experience.
