Rock Ballast Reservoir is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is located in the wonderful Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do near Rock Ballast Reservoir. Why not camp at Iron Spring Campground while you're here at Rock Ballast Reservoir; if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Montrose.

Glide down the rapids of San Miguel River in a kayak; don't leave Rock Ballast Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Paradox
Road. A journey to Rock Ballast Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Clay Creek Spring; unsurprisingly, this is a good neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Berry Reservoir is a lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
If you come at the right time of year, San Miguel River offers some brilliant whitewater, and unsurprisingly South Fork Clay Creek flows through this vicinity.
Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff
to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. A brilliant nearby hotel is Quality Inn & Suites, and going for a hike on the Horsefly Trail is always a delightful adventure.
