This lake is one of the great places here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. During the summer months at Road Reservoir temperatures are frequently in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime lows through the winter for       Road Reservoir tend to be in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. This place, Road Reservoir, it clearly has so much outdoors fun stuff. If you came for an overnight stay Antone Spring Campground is a glorious location to camp, obviously you could also go to Dead Horse Reservoir if you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on San Miguel River is so much fun, and hiking along the Horsefly Trail is wonderful fun. You completely                  ought to love the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. You'll meet a lot of folks from Montrose here, and Hampton Inn Montrose is a pleasant place to get some rest. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Cottonwood Trail; if you've had enough of Road Reservoir, Logging Camp Draw Reservoir is close by. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun stuff to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. A journey to Road Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Dobler Spring, and Iron Spring Campground is a perfect local campground.
