Sure, Dudley Pond is in close proximity, and going for a hike on the Jones Hole Trail is always a fine adventure. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Red Rock Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Rainbow Park Campground; there are some good whitewater spots on Green River. This lake is so wonderful. If time allows, Dinosaur National Monument       is a national park worth checking out, and close by you stumble on the Daniels Trail which is a great hiking trail. At Red Rock Reservoir all through the long summer days highs are in the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Red Rock Reservoir temperatures sink to the 10's. There are great places                  to look at along the Hoy Trail, and a tour to Surveyor Spring will fill your spirit with nice feelings. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. A good place to check out near Red Rock Reservoir is Robinson Draw. There's so much to do here at Red Rock Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Split Mountain Gorge Campground is a great spot for that, and if you come at the right time of year, Jones Hole Creek offers some nice whitewater.
