High temperatures at Red Dirt Reservoir during the summertime are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 40's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Red Dirt Reservoir dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Colorado River; the slopes of Steamboat are so inviting noone can resist. Blacktail Creek Campground is a glorious local campground, and Red Dirt Reservoir is not the only site close by, Albert Reservoir                  is a close by lake. Not much precipitation falls here at Red Dirt Reservoir; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Red Dirt Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Park Range.
