Why not take a refreshing hike along the Schubarth Trail; enjoy a round of golf at Shining Mountain Golf Club. Take a hike on the Balanced Rock Trail, and close by you hit upon Ensign Gulch which is a splendid spot to visit. Be careful coming to the Front Range, you might not ever want to return back home again. Hiking along the Stanley Canyon Trail is great fun, and if you get bored of Rainbow Reservoir you could also stop by nearby Lake       Lodge. Dry warm beds await you at Sundance Mountain Lodge; Rainbow Reservoir is not the only place close by, Grace Lake is a close by lake. Not much rain falls here at Rainbow Reservoir; July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is January. High temperatures at Rainbow Reservoir through the summer are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and                  nighttime lows at Rainbow Reservoir all through the wintertime regularly drop into the 0's. Rainbow Reservoir is located in the Front Range. This lake is so wonderful. Why not go to Rainbow Dam if you're here, and after a long day outdoors Country Lodge is a brilliant site to spend a night or two. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do in the vicinity of Rainbow Reservoir. Rainbow Reservoir is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Promontory Campground is a fine local campground, and don't miss out on a trip to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument since you're here. Yeah, come up here to the Front Range for a great time.
