Rainbow Lake gets very little rain; March is when you get the most snow here, and June on the other hand is the driest. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Rainbow Lake. The scenery at Sheriff Dam next to Rainbow Lake is gorgeous, and Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a fine spot to get some rest.       Nearby Yellowjacket Pass is a magnificent site to go if you're at Rainbow Lake. There's so much to do here at Rainbow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Baughn Lake Campground is a perfect site for that. Lakes? Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's; during the dark hours in the winter at Rainbow Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's. Going for a hike along the South Derby Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; if you're looking for some flowing water?
