Potato Patch Campground is a perfect campground here; you could always look at Deadman Canyon. That right there is a heap of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has it all. If you came for an overnight stay Monument Lake Resort is a perfect site to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Wade Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and don't forget to       take a splendid little trip to Abbot Creek. Head up to Eldora and strap some skis to your feet, and do take a hike on the West Peak Trail. Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Apishapa Trail, and a visit to South Valley invigorates the spirit. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Rainbow Lake. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. Throughout                  the winter highs are in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Rainbow Lake temperatures plunge to the-10's. Rainbow Lake gets very little rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place.
