You'll need more than a day to discover everything Rainbow Lake has to offer, you can camp at Elbert Creek Campground, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Mount Massive Trail. Take a hike on the Highline Trail, and magnificent skiing awaits you at Ski Cooper. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Rainbow Lake reach the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures       are in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are frequently in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Rainbow Lake. Rainbow Lake is pretty arid usually; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Notch Lake. But wait, there's more to do close to Rainbow Lake. Rainbow Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Mary Queen Campground is a great place                  to camp nearby, and whitewater paddling is glorious on Clear Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sawatch Range. So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Sawatch Range, too tremendous to be true. Going for a hike along the Main Range Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and dry warm beds await you at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Lake Creek, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - Leadville is a nice choice.
