This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Sheep Lake; while you're here you can take a hike along the Lowline Trail. Rainbow Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Soap Creek Campground is a tremendous local campground, and there's always Rainbow Lake Dam to have a look at in the neighborhood       of Rainbow Lake. Rainbow Lake gets very little rainfall; throughout October this area sees the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Going for a hike along the Mill-Castle Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork. During the months of summer at Rainbow Lake highs are typically in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's                  mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Rainbow Lake dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Rodeway Inn Gunnison is a great choice; Irwin Lodge is a tremendous local ski area. That right there is a heap already, but it goes on; Rainbow Lake has it all. If the weather is great here at Rainbow Lake, you can go for a hike along the Cureranti Pass Trail; get dripping wet paddling on Cebolla River. This is a wonderful neighborhood for people who like lakes. Costo Lake is a lake around here.
