This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Balman Dam is a delightful spot in close proximity to Rainbow Lake, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Rainbow Trail. You truly must have a thing about the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. AppleLodge Bed And Breakfast is a fine site to get some rest. Arkansas River has a wonderful whitewater paddling       spot nearby, and if you came to camp Lake Creek Campground is a pleasant place to do that. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. A lake nearby is Balman Reservoir, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Cotton Trail. These mountains rock, just look at all the amusing stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Paddling on Arkansas River is so much fun, and on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Crossover                  Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Cutty's Resort is always a tremendous experience, and the panorama of beautiful Baldy Peak is nice. During the warm days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Rainbow Lake. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Rainbow Lake.
