If you are traveling by, why not stop by Quartz Lake. There are other places here than Quartz Lake, for example Lake Ann; there's whitewater on Wolf Creek for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant nearby hotel is Oak Ridge Lodge. There's so much to do here at Quartz Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Blanco River Campground is a good location for that. So much exciting stuff close to Quartz Lake, simply astonishing. Good hiking

The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Man, is there a lot of exciting things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The Blanco River Trail offers hiking at its best; there are some glorious whitewater spots on San Juan River - East Fork.

Co is a pleasant choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Quartz Lake; Quartz Creek Trail is a delightful local trail. Summertime highs at Quartz Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures
plunge down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Quartz Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.
Quartz Lake gets very little rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture.

| I was raised near this lake and when a child we had to pack horses into this lake. It is not near any campgrounds, and it's over 25 miles to town, not 18. It gets way colder than 0 in the winter but the views are almost correct. It IS beautiful!... |
San Juan River - East Fork
| I am a very close relative of the land owners for a significant portion of the East Fork. There is a couple of miles of river that is private land. Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts. Please respect the property line and stay on public lands. Other than that enjoy your time in CO and happy rafting.... |
