Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line. If you came for an overnight stay Dolores River RV Park is a delightful spot to camp, and the Frink Trail offers hiking at its best. Any time is a wonderful time at Puett Reservoir if you go for the outdoors.       Camping is available at A & A Mesa Verde Recreational Vehicle Park, and Echo Basin Dude And Guest Ranch, LLC is a delightful place to get some rest. Whitewater paddling is great on Dolores River. All through the months of summer at Puett Reservoir highs are commonly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Puett Reservoir dipping down into the 10's all through                  winter nights. A perfect nearby hotel is Dunton Hot Springs, and Puett Reservoir is right by the Old Tourist Trail. Not much precipitation falls here at Puett Reservoir; throughout the month of October you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is June.
