Be careful coming to Ptarmigan Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. If you need a place to stay CrossTimbers at Steamboat is a perfect choice, and Ptarmigan Lake sits in the shade of the Park Range. If you want a great time in the great outdoors,       just come on down to Ptarmigan Lake. For the duration of the long summer days at Ptarmigan Lake highs are mostly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Ptarmigan Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Wolverine Creek is a splendid local stream, and perfect hiking is available along the North Lake Trail. While you're here at Ptarmigan Lake it's a great idea                  to take a look at Wolverine Basin, and the summit of The Dome can be made out from Ptarmigan Lake. Going for a hike on the Wyoming Trail is always a nice adventure; Winterwood Townhomes is a nice site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Summit Lake Campground, and most likely you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Pristine Lake is just a very short distance away. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Elk River, and Steamboat is a nice local ski area. Around Ptarmigan Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; through December this area sees the most snow while August is typically the driest month. So many entertaining things in the Park Range, just extraordinary. You're probably into lakes, Wolverine Lake is one of those nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Crags Trail.
