There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Park Range. Ptarmigan Lake is right by the Crags Trail, and lakes are such serene places, why not visit Pristine Lake. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great planet it would be. Elk River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Steamboat       while you're here. At Ptarmigan Lake through the warm months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 20's; nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Ptarmigan Lake tend to be in the-10's. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is plentiful here in the Park Range. Winterwood Townhomes is a great location to get some rest, and Wolverine Basin is a great location to stretch your                  legs a bit. It is very arid here at Ptarmigan Lake mostly; through the month of December you get the most snow around here; the driest month of the year is August. Ptarmigan Lake is one of the lakes here in the Park Range. This lake is so wonderful. The Wyoming Trail offers hiking at its best, and The Dome is clearly visible from Ptarmigan Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll stumble on a gorgeous lake called Wolverine Lake near Ptarmigan Lake, and do take a hike on the North Lake Trail. If you need a spot to stay CrossTimbers at Steamboat is a nice choice, and Grizzly Creek Campground is a great campground nearby. Ptarmigan Lake is in a brilliant location in the shadow of the Park Range, and skiing at Howelsen Hill is one of those things you just should do. Man, is there a lot of entertaining things to do close to Ptarmigan Lake.
