Ptarmigan Lake is a lake worth visiting. Not much rain falls here at Ptarmigan Lake; December is the wettest month with most snow while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the summer months here at Ptarmigan Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Highs through the winter are typically in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Ptarmigan Lake. The best

| | way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Howelsen Hill.
This lake is so wonderful. A range like the Park Range here at Ptarmigan Lake is always striking, and there are great places to explore along the Wyoming Trail. Wolverine Basin is right here at Ptarmigan Lake, and why not camp at Summit Lake Campground since you're here at Ptarmigan Lake. Creek is a stream that you may come across while you're here, and dry warm beds await you at Winterwood Townhomes.
If you need a spot to stay Western Lodge is a great choice; you can see The Dome from Ptarmigan Lake. If only every
place had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great world it would be. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Dome Lake, and don't leave Ptarmigan Lake without first going for a hike along
the North Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Ptarmigan Lake is great fun, Grizzly Creek Campground is a great local campground, and float down the rapids of Elk River in a kayak.
Be careful coming to the Park Range,
you might not ever wanna go home again. Go for a hike on the Crags Trail, and Steamboat is a very popular ski area around here. This lake is located in the wonderful Park Range.
