Not much rain falls here at Ptarmigan Lake; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is June. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Ptarmigan Lake. A great place for whitewater paddling close to Ptarmigan Lake is Lime Creek. All year is a pleasant time in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains if you fancy the outdoors. Ptarmigan Lake is not the only spot close by, Ingram Lake is a close by lake, and camping

| | at Ridgeway is always a fine experience. The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Do set aside some time for Imogene Basin if you're here at Ptarmigan Lake, and get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Mineral Creek - South. This lake is so wonderful. near. Any time is a splendid time at Ptarmigan Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. The Greyhound Pack Trail is a delightful hiking trail close to Ptarmigan Lake; some of the water close by flows, like Richmond Creek.
