A lake nearby is Tabor Lake, and why not head up to Aspen Highlands and strap some skis to your feet. Ptarmigan Lake is pretty dehydrated generally; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Lake Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers;       if you're here you can take a hike along the Star Trail. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Ptarmigan Lake, high temperatures frequently get into the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Ptarmigan Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. If you need a place to stay VillaHotel Bears Creek is a nice choice, and the snow is brilliant at Aspen Mountain.                  This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is good here at Ptarmigan Lake, you can go for a hike along the Matchless Trail. On a pleasant day at Ptarmigan Lake you can take a hike along the Timberline Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Roaring Fork. This site is excellent, just explore all the fun stuff to do near Ptarmigan Lake.
