Throughout the wintertime highs are typically in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Portner Reservoir. Camping is available       at Arapaho Bay - Arapaho National Forest, and Portner Reservoir is not far at all from Fort Collins-Loveland. North Poudre Reservoir Number 17 is a tremendous lake in the vicinity of Portner Reservoir; going for a hike on the Round Mountain Trail is always a good adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Pawnee                  - Arapaho National Forest is always a fine experience, and a charming lake like Robert Benson Lake is a great site to stop at. Man, is there heaps of cool things to do near Portner Reservoir. There are nice locations to explore along the Jug Trail, and playing golf is lots of fun at Cattail Creek Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Wintersteen Trail, and Residence Inn By Marriott Fort Collins is a perfect location to get some rest.
