Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend San Miguel River, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Portis Pond; Horsefly Trail is a splendid local trail. Lakes? Sure, Bull Pond is close at hand, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Cottonwood Trail. Portis Pond beyond doubt is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Camping at Antone Spring Campground is always a brilliant experience,       and if you need a place to stay Westward Ho Motel & Trailer Pk is a perfect choice. A spree to Portis Pond wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Lindsey Spring, and a great nearby hotel is NORWOOD Inn. Not much rainfall falls here at Portis Pond; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Portis Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Miramonte Reservoir Campground                  is a nice local campground; great hiking is available along the Telephone Draw Trail. For the duration of the summer months at Portis Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Portis Pond.
