This lake is so wonderful. Very beautiful scenery and pleasant skiing is what you get at Sunlight Mountain, and there's good hiking along the Mansfield Ditch Trail. Porter Reservoir is frequently a rather waterless place; during the month of October you get the most rain around here, and February meanwhile is the driest       month. You don’t have to go far from Porter Reservoir to catch a sight of the water at Barton Porter Dam; the Fayville Trail offers hiking at its best. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Porter Reservoir. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's while Porter Reservoir night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. For you golfers we recommend close by Glenwood SPGS Golf Club; a lake nearby                  is Hughes Reservoir. A delightful nearby hotel is Clarion Collection Glenwood Suites.
