     Everybody nearby loves skiing at Telluride; if you need a site to stay The Ice House Lodge is a great choice. Porphyry Lake is a tremendous location to visit for more than one day, South Mineral Campground is a tremendous location to camp nearby; hey, Gotta ski right? Silverton is a splendid spot to do that. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. The Greyhound Pack Trail is a good hiking trail close to Porphyry  
   Lake, and a striking lake like Mud Lake is a pleasant location to have a look at.
The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. So many exciting things to do here at Porphyry Lake, too splendid to be true. Whitewater paddling is great on Lime Creek, and lakes are such calm spots, why not pop by Bullion King Lake. At Porphyry Lake you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; the driest month
 
               is June.
Near Porphyry Lake you come across the Weehawken Pack Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail, and Ingram Peak is uncomplicated to spot from Porphyry Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant tour to Bridal Veil Basin is a glorious way to spend an afternoon; on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Brooklyn Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Porphyry Lake has to offer, you can camp at Molas Lake Park; there's some interesting stuff to distinguish at Bridal Veil Dam next to Porphyry Lake.
Yeah, come here to Porphyry Lake for a great time. A short trip to Chattanooga Hot Spring is always worthwhile, and golf can be played at Telluride Ski & Golf Club. And that's not all there is to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. For the duration of the summer at Porphyry Lake highs are mostly in the 70's, and the overnight is fairly cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Porphyry Lake.
So many entertaining things in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, just fantastic. A great close by hotel is Camel's Garden, and Mineral Creek - South has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby.
