If you are in Chaffee county it's always a good idea to stop by Pomeroy Lake. Pomeroy Lake is located in the Sawatch Range. That right there is a load already, but it continues; Pomeroy Lake has it all. Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is a glorious national park, and if you've had enough of Pomeroy Lake, Upper Pomeroy Lake is nearby. Pomeroy Lake is pretty dehydrated commonly; through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is June. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Pomeroy Lake; Fooses Creek Trail is a perfect local trail; the vista of stunning Chrysolite Mountain is pleasant. This lake is so wonderful. Pomeroy Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. Highs throughout the winter are frequently in the 20's while Pomeroy Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime
are in the-20's. Everybody close by loves skiing at Monarch, and Middle Quartz Campground is a wonderful local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Pomeroy Lake is right by the Pitkin Stock Driveway; Garfield Campground is a fine campground nearby.

You can walk from your car right to the lifts, prices are reasonable, and the runs flow naturally back to the base area. At Monarch you'll lose the crowds but not your friends.
Monarch is a family favorite because of great snow conditions and easy access to the mountain. Having one base area makes it convenient to drop off the little ones in the Children's Center, pick-up rental equipment, sign up for ski school and get on the slopes in a timely manner. Lift lines are a rarity and you will regularly find ski runs to yourself.
