You can run the rapids of Rio Grande close to Pointer Lake, and hiking along the Long Ridge Stock Driveway is perfect fun. Corral Creek is a stream that you may come across while you're here, and a stunning lake like Rito Hondo Reservoir is a wonderful spot to explore. Do check out Continental Reservoir close to Pointer Lake, it's a lovely lake, and Lake Fork Gunnison River is a fine whitewater spot nearby. This lake is located in       the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Pointer Lake gets very little rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most while February is generally the driest month. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A glorious nearby hotel is Fairfield Pagosa Resort, and Pointer Lake is right by the Rough Creek Trail. All through the summertime here at Pointer Lake, high temperatures                  generally reach the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; overnight lows all through the wintertime for Pointer Lake tend to be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. North Clear Creek Park is a great place here at Pointer Lake; if you came to camp North Clear Creek Campground is a great place to do that. If only every spot had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a great world it would be. Rito Hondo Dam is not far at all from Pointer Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Cebolla Trail. Having a wonderful time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is trouble-free.
