At Point Reservoir you don’t see much rainfall; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Lakes? Sure, Gurley Reservoir is in close proximity, and if you need a spot to stay Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge is a       magnificent choice. Go for a hike on the Horsefly Trail, and Lone Cone Reservoir is a great lake close by. Through the days of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Point Reservoir while nighttime lows are regularly in the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Point Reservoir temperatures dip to the 0's. Good hiking is available along the Woods Lake Trail; Point Reservoir is not far at                  all from Montrose. Man, is there a load of enjoyable stuff to do in the neighborhood of Point Reservoir. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Point Reservoir; Wood Lake Trail is a wonderful local trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Point Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Iron Spring Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend San Miguel River. This lake is so wonderful.
