For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while Pocahontas Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Medicine Bow Mountains is great! Camping at Creedmore Lakes Campground is always a good experience; Pocahontas Lake is right by the       North Lone Pine Trail. Around Pocahontas Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; through July this area sees the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Shagwa Lake; hiking along the Killpecker Trail is good fun. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Pocahontas Lake. Pocahontas Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Bellaire Lake Campground is a glorious local campground,                  and you can take a little visit to Ramona Dam since you're here at Pocahontas Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Swamp Creek Cutoff Trail, and whitewater paddling is fine on Cache La Poudre River. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the Medicine Bow Mountains has to offer. Paddling on Cache La Poudre River is so much fun; if you need a place to stay Peak To Peak Lodge Inc. is a nice choice. The Medicine Bow Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Fox Acres Country Club is a golf course next to Pocahontas Lake, needless to say you could also check out Apache Lake since you're here; it's not far at all.
