The North Lone Pine Trail is a great hiking trail near Pocahontas Lake; Ramona Dam is a place that is right next door to Pocahontas Lake. Man, is there heaps of cool stuff to do in the Medicine Bow Mountains. You can run the rapids of Cache La Poudre River right next door to Pocahontas Lake, and why not camp at Bellaire Lake Campground since you're here at Pocahontas Lake. This lake is so       wonderful. While you're here at Pocahontas Lake, you could also go to beautiful Shagwa Lake, and Creedmore Lakes Campground is a great local campground. And if you're still looking for more outdoors exciting things just keep reading. Near Pocahontas Lake you come across the Killpecker Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and playing golf is lots of fun at Fox Acres Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is located in the wonderful Medicine Bow                  Mountains. A nice location for whitewater paddling near Pocahontas Lake is Cache La Poudre River; Apache Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. Summer at Pocahontas Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 40's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Pocahontas Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. You absolutely must like the Medicine Bow Mountains.
