Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Pocahontas Lake. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Pocahontas Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. Get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Cache La Poudre River; if you're interested in hydro structures, you can explore Ramona Dam. Fox Acres Country Club is a great       golf course nearby, and there's great hiking along the Killpecker Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Pocahontas Lake without first going for a hike along the Swamp Creek Cutoff Trail, and there's whitewater on Cache La Poudre River for all you adrenaline people. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Medicine Bow Mountains. There are other locations here than Pocahontas Lake, for example Apache Lake, and Bellaire                  Lake Campground is a fine campground here.
