The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 60's to Platoro Reservoir while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Platoro Reservoir drop into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Allington Inn and Suites is a perfect choice. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The top of Forest King Mountain is easily seen from Platoro Reservoir, and dry warm beds await you at The Spruce Lodge.
