Placid Lake is ordinarily a quite dried out place; August is when you get the most rain here, and November is the month with the least moisture. A fine site near Placid Lake is Black Canyon, and there's whitewater on Saint Vrain Creek - North for all you adrenaline junkies. Be careful coming to the Front Range, you might not ever wanna go home again. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close       by Livingston Lake; the summit of Castle Mountain can be seen from Placid Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Estes Valley Recreation District Estes Park Golf Club not far from Placid Lake, and do take a hike on the Cow Creek Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Front Range. This location rocks, just check out all the enjoyable things to do near Placid Lake. Interesting geology is available here; The Needles is near Placid                  Lake, and some of the water close by flows, like Beaver Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Placid Lake, you'll discover Dorsey Lake which is a delightful lake; the views at Rocky Mountain National Park will blow your mind. Through the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Placid Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 30's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Placid Lake. That right there is lots of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Front Range has it all. Placid Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Elk Meadow Lodge and RV Resort is a pleasant local campground, and the North Deer Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. Any time is a pleasant time at Placid Lake if you love the outdoors. If you need a location to stay RiverStone Resorts-BearPaw Ste is a tremendous choice. A delightful close by hotel is Inn on Fall River, and get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Cache La Poudre River - South Fork.
